eLearning Units of Study: specifically designed for the remote learning environment
FREE WEBINAR
Tuesday, August 18th
3:00pm - 3:45pm (EST)
Why eLearning Units of Study?
We are faced with new challenges in education today. The need for effective online teaching is our current reality, and as a result, the educational community must re-imagine its instructional practices to optimize digital resources and tools.
Schoolwide, too, has re-imagined its nationally recognized Reading, Writing, and Grammar Units of Study and created a new selection of eLearning Units of Study. These interactive content-literacy units provide authentic and meaningful teaching and learning experiences, as well as appropriate, quality texts and materials to support effective online instruction.
We invite you to learn more about our eLearning Units of Study during a FREE WEBINAR on August 18.
Key considerations about eLearning unit design and topics covered in the webinar:
- How do we design digital lessons so they are meaningful, precise, and interactive?
- How do we blend evidence-based instructional practices with effective distance learning practices?
- How do we create small-group experiences where teachers differentiate instruction and support student learning?
- What types of meaningful, independent tasks will allow students to practice and apply the strategies and skills taught?
- Because equity is essential, how do we provide options for both digital assignments and those students can do with pencil and paper, or other hands-on materials?
- How do we monitor and assess student progress and learning?
- How can we ensure students and families feel supported through availability and regular communication?
- How can we support students (and families) as they learn and become proficient with tech tools?
- How do we let families know the expected outcomes for daily and weekly online sessions and at-home tasks?
- How do we balance live and recorded sessions (synchronous and asynchronous learning)?
- How do we balance teacher talk, screen time, and student independent application?
- What types of engaging resources do we need to inspire and motivate students?
