Thursday, January 28, 2021
4:00pm - 4:45pm (EST)
Description
Please join us for a collegial discussion on how Schoolwide's content literacy eLearning Units of Study create authentic and meaningful teaching and learning experiences in a remote environment.
Participants will engage in a Q&A-style exchange facilitated by Schoolwide literacy experts.
Some key topics to be discussed:
How do we blend evidence-based instructional practices with effective distance learning practices?
How do we create small-group experiences where teachers differentiate instruction and support student learning?
What types of meaningful, independent tasks will allow students to practice and apply the strategies and skills taught?
How do we monitor and assess student progress and learning?
How can we ensure students and families feel supported through availability and regular communication?
How do we balance live and recorded sessions (synchronous and asynchronous learning)?
How do we balance teacher talk, screen time, and student independent application?
